DxOMark is known for rigourously testing the quality of cameras and smartphones, but until now, it had ignored the front-facing cameras, mainly used for selfies. The new DxOMark Selfie listing, which scores the 12 most popular devices (for now), ranks the Google Pixel 3 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 at the top of the list, with 92 points, followed by the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 (84 points), the iPhone XS Max (82 points) and the Galaxy S9 Plus (81). At the bottom of the list is the Intex Aqua Selfie, with just 22 points (this phone, unknown to us up until now, is an inexpensive device specifically developed for the Indian market). DxOMark also assessed video performance; scores are similar to those for stills.
