Right on time for the Holidays, Apple has launched the AirPods Max, high-fidelity, wireless headphones that “bring the magic of AirPods® to an over-ear design”. Of course, Apple promises “a breakthrough listening experience” that provides rich, deep bass, accurate mid-ranges, and crisp, clean high-frequency extension. The headphones get up to 20 hours of battery life and recharge in 2 hours with a 5W charger. They come with a transportation “Smart Case” that looks like a miniature designer handbag that puts AirPods Max in an ultralow power state that helps to preserve battery charge when not in use. Early independent testers confirm the very pleasant sound and superior noise-cancelling system, better even than Sony’s WH-1000XM4 and Bose’s 700, but at CAD780, you’d expect nothing less. The AirPods Max come in five colours: space gray, silver, green, sky blue, and pink. They are available for preorder and should hit the store shelves on December 15.
