Following the upgrade of analog surveillance cameras with IP versions, PJCCI wanted to make improve a feature already available to the public: the ability to view the live-stream video of traffic flow online. The new network also had to meet certain security constraints.
PJCCI

The Background
PJCCI (Ponts Jacques Cartier and Champlain Incorporated) is a federal Crown corporation that manages major roadway infrastructure in the greater Montreal area.
The Solution
Under a tight schedule, Spiria developed an intuitive interface that allows the Sureté du Québec employees to choose which of the RTSP incoming images will stream to their website from among approximately twenty security cameras.
Administrators have the tools to add or remove a camera from the back-end management system. Interrupted streams are automatically replaced by an “unavailable” message. The live broadcast can be delayed by a few minutes for safety concerns. Furthermore, law enforcement has access to the streams in its command centers and can interrupt a stream at any moment should circumstances require it.
The Services
- Web application development
- Wooza Streaming Engine integration
- UX/UI design
- Server installation and load testing
The Results
PJCCI has a scalable, reliable, and secure system allowing it to manage video broadcasts on its website in real time. Accordingly, the corporation can better respond to users’ expectations by giving them live information as to traffic conditions on key roadways in Greater Montreal. This project establishes PJCCI as a key player in major infrastructure management in its role of expert in innovation, mobility leader, and social and urban actor.
We are delighted to have collaborated with Spiria for our software development projects. The Agile project management and the flawless quality of the deliverables make Spiria the ideal partner for PJCCI.
