Zoom pursues its goal to be the go-to app for virtual meetings and events by making Zoom Apps and Zoom Events widely available starting this Wednesday. Zoom Apps are third-party integrations that display directly in your Zoom call. Over fifty apps are available, including, most importantly, nine games, which mostly focus on team building. For example, Kahoot! has fun quizzes and Werewolf with Friends is a multiplayer deduction game. In the latest version of Zoom, you will be able to install applications from a new “Apps” tab that will show up in the toolbar during Zoom calls (though your company administrator may need to be activate it).

Zoom Events is a platform that helps you organize virtual events. You can set up a hub that gives details and features a bulletin board for your event, and you can also sell tickets through the app.

The Verge, Jay Peters, “Zoom will now let you add third-party apps to your calls.”
