The Elsonic EK-MD088 features a really weird 7:32 aspect-ratio monitor! Its 8.8-inch diagonal TFT screen has a 420×1920 pixel (223.3 ppi) definition. At 248 mm tall, the device is powered via USB-C and features a Mini-HDMI port for video input. It comes with an adjustable, foldable stand and a few different brightness levels. The question remains, what purpose can such a strangely narrow screen serve? Actually, it seems tailor-made to scroll endlessly through your Twitter or Instagram feed. You could use it horizontally, but then it makes no sense. As of this writing, it looks like the monitor will only be released in Japan. According to the product page, it should be available from early February for 14,800 JPY, or around 160 CAD.
