We blogged about the Framework earlier this year, a slim and lightweight 13.5-inch laptop that can be easily upgraded, configured and repaired by the user, much like the phones by Fairphone. The portable Framework, which got a 10/10 iFixit score for repairability, has been available for two months already. But now, it has its own marketplace, essential to turning the promise of its upgradeability into reality. The marketplace currently focuses on spare parts and expansion cards, but later in 2022, the company hopes to add personalized items like keyboards in multiple languages, as well as modules developed by third parties and by the community. If you are interested in a Framework laptop, prices start at USD 1,000 for a model assembled with an Intel i5-1135G7 processor, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. All versions come with a 13.5-inch, 2,256 x 1,504px 3:2 display, a 1080p webcam and a 55Wh battery.
